Pineapple

In pineapple, players are dealt 3 cards instead of two. There is a round of betting. Then the flop comes (3 cards just like hold'em) and there is another round of betting. However, after the betting after the flop, each player must discard one of their cards, so they are back down to the traditional two cards. Play is then the same as a hold'em game

1. Hole Cards. Each player is dealt three cards face down. The player immediately to left of the dealer is the Small Blind, he has to put a forced bet equal to half the big blind into the pot before he sees his cards.  The player to his left is the Big Blind, he has to put a full bet into the pot before he sees his cards.   Betting action begins with the player to the left of the big blind.

Example:
2nd to Act
3rd to Act

You

In this example you would act first Pre-flop.

If no one has raised the big blind can check and see the flop, or raise and make everyone act again.

2. The Flop. Three cards are dealt face up on the table. For this and all subsequent betting rounds of betting, the first player to the left of the dealer who is still in the hand acts first.  He has the option to Bet or check.  If he bets each player can then Call, Fold, or Raise.  Action continues until all players have, checked, called or folded. After betting is completed each player must select one of there hole cards to discard. They throw this card away face down so that know one can see the discarded cards.  Play will now continue with the turn and river, but the decision of which card was thrown can not be changed.

3. The Turn. A fourth card is dealt to the table. The first player to the left of the dealer who is still in the hand acts first.  He has the option to Bet or check.  If he bets each player can then Call, Fold, or Raise.  Action continues until all players have, checked, called or folded.
4. The River. Finally, a fifth card is dealt to the table. The first player to the left of the dealer who is still in the hand acts first.  He has the option to Bet or check.  If he bets each player can then Call, Fold, or Raise.  Action continues until all players have, checked, called or folded.

The five cards on the table are community cards. Your hand is formed by taking the best poker hand you can by using any five out of the seven cards (5 community + 2 hole cards). But remember, all the players have access to the community cards.

Pineapple is sometimes played as a high game with the best poker hand winning the whole pot.  Other times it is played high-low with the best high hand winning half, and if any player can make a hand with 5 cards under 8 then the player with the best low hand wins the other half of the pot. Pineapple, when played with a split pot is usually played with A-5 being the best low hand. In the event that two players have the same hand for high or low, that half of the pot is again halved, resulting in each of those two player receiving a quarter of the total pot.

In Lazy pineapple the game is played where you keep all three hole cards till the river, but your hand must use three board cards and two cards from your hand, much like in Omaha.
