Crazy Pineapple
Pineapple is a great game of limit poker. It is
something of a halfway between Holdem and Omaha. You start each hand with
three cards in the hole, you see a flop and then you throw one of the
cards away. This 3rd card allows you to see many more flops and generally
leads to a very loose game. It is not unusual to see 85% of players seeing
a flop in a 10 handed game! This kind of action is almost unheard of in
holdem.
The key thing to remember in this game is that their are many more hand
combinations dealt out, so you are far more likely to see the nuts then in 2
card games. This is a good game to play lots of hands of hands pre-flop,
but you have to play much tighter post-flop then in holdem. |

| Crazy Pineapple Starting Hands |
|
| In pineapple you will get dealt far more playable
starting hands then you would in a game of Holdem, but so will your opponent.
Like any game of poker you always want to be playing a little tighter then your
opponents. You want to look for hands where all your cards work together
and where you can create more then one playable starting hands. Ideally
your cards should not interfere with each other, like a hand with three aces is
actually fairly weak as you have cut your chances of making three of a kind in
half, the same goes for having three cards of the same suit.
